Local Direct Gov

The Local Directgov page describes the WebPortal and LocalDirectgov schemas for exchanging information with Web portals on service delivery through the Web and other channels. The schemas were developed for the Local Directgov programme in consultation with councils who developed Somerset Online and with the Local e-Government Standards Body.

Business and technical guidance documents are published for the schema.

One standard schema is issued for all controlled lists in XML format: taxonomy.xsd.

One schema defines the format of XML mappings between any two lists: mapping.xsd

Further guidance will soon be published on schemas used, on a separate schema for nested XML and on a schema for subsets of controlled lists.
