LGIL (Local Government Interaction List) Resources

LGIL-Interaction List

Version 1.00

Description

The Local Government Interaction List (LGIL) is a list defining the type of interaction (publish information, make a payment, etc) supported by a resource. At its highest level LGIL corresponds with the interaction types used by the Best Value Performance Indicator (BVPI) 157 in measuring local authority e-enablement of services. Some interactions are further broken down to more accurately reflect detailed interactions. It is anticipated that the list will be further refined to support quite specific electronic interactions conducted through middleware using these standards. LGIL is provided as a 'scheme' for populating the e-GMS 'subject.interaction' element/refinement proposed by LAWs.

XSD and RDFS schemas are subject to modification following definition of standards by the e-Government Unit Metadata Technical Working Group and the W3C taxonomy group. In the event of changes, we shall endeavour to support the formats given as legacy formats.

List usage

This list is used 70,269 times (reduced to 13,312 times after removal of near duplicate pages) by 20 public sector Web sites - see here for a list of Web sites. View organisations registered as users of this list. See interactive viewer 'Term Usage Count' for details.

XML files

LGIL version 1.00 was released on 1 September 2005:

LGIL version 1.01 has a submissions deadline of 2 January 2009 and has a planned release date of 2 February 2009.

This XML file is the official version. The file is still considered to be a draft because there is extensive discussion in the local government community about that and LAWs is eager to accommodate a wide ranger of requirements. It is likely that the format of lgil.xml will not be subject to much further revision.
