Lists suitable for populating subject, audience and type metadata elements are published in machine and human readable format. LGCL may also be used as a default Web site navigation hierarchy. XML resources may be read into APLAWS+. The RDFS resources support representation of metadata in RSS syndication feeds. The home page for all controlled lists is www.esd.org.uk/standards.
e-Government Metadata Standard (eGMS) elements are represented with LAWs comments relevant to each element and comments provided by the CRM project. LAWs has produced guidance on implementing eGMS in local authority Web sites.
LAWs has defined a set of XML complex types which give a standard structure for content defining a service. Starter Kit content is published in the defined format and APLAWS+ has a 'bulk upload' to import content in this format.
LAWs defines a standard for syndication of content according to RDF Site Summary (RSS) version 1.0, which uses the RDF syntax. A sample RSS feed is given for the Starter Kit content.
Documents describing how information architecture and accessibility have been considered in the design of the APLAWS+ content management system.
