TLCs and working groups

esd-toolkit's local authority community hosts regional Toolkit Local Community (TLC) events and activities, as well as supporting dynamic national working groups.

The regional TLCs are led by a chair and deputy or co-chair, drawn from the local authorities in the area. These individuals give their time freely and provide esd-toolkit governance at the regional level. TLCs agree regional initiatives and help focus resources to jointly consider issues and best practice. National topical speakers are invited to attend TLC events and local heroes showcase examples of innovative and new ways of working.

The dynamic national working groups are similarly hosted and driven by the local authority community in response to (often national) directives or common issues that need tackling. Working groups are usually task and finish with a specific focus on deliverables and often involve collaboration with other public sector groups.

Both regional TLCs and working groups provide great networking opportunities, as well as shared learning and most are free of charge to attend! They each have community web pages where they publish their latest information and findings, as well as online forums – do come back and visit them regularly!

The diverse and interesting TLC events and national working groups do vary and so are of interest and value to the whole spectrum of esd-toolkit users.
