As part of the on-going Department of Communities and Local Government (CLG) Timely Information To Citizen project two research reports have been published:
- A Review of UK and International Good Practice, written by Leeds Metropolitan University
- Identifying and evaluating best practice, by IPSOS MORI
These documents form the basis of the
Informing Citizens Good Practice toolkit where you can not only read and search their content, but can add your own text and make comments.
The toolkit, in the form of a wiki, provide a means whereby the research can be treated as a living document, continually improved by local authorities and others who have something to contribute on the subject of keeping citizens well informed. As such it forms a bit of an experiment in developing a sustainable outcome to such research by getting away from purely static documents, which are updated by periodic release exercise or simply age after an initial impetus.
The Informing Citizens Good practice Wiki compliments these other resources made available through esd-toolkit:
Amongst other information, these pages describe and discuss
pilots of new approaches, funded by the Timely Information to Citizens project.
