Local Government Navigation List
Abbreviation
LGNL
Items represent
The standard Local Authority Web site navigation structure.
Source
www.esd.org.uk/standards/lgnl
Purpose
To provide full navigation to all standard local authority services, in a format suitable for use on a local authority website. At its lowest level, it maps to all external-facing services in the LGSL.
Local variations
Many local authorities may wish to tailor their web site navigation according to local authorities. LGNL provides valuable assistance in achieving a consistent approach and in helping councils assess the design and completeness of their own navigation structures.
Origin
The LGNL list drew heavily on navigation lists coming from APLAWS and LAWs local government projects. LGNL is owned by the West London Alliance.
Status
Mature list at version 3.04, updated every 3 months to reflect any changes to LGSL and any adopted suggestions from users of the LGNL.
