Items represent
The types of agency with whom local authorities might work in partnership to deliver services. More widely, LGATL can be seen as listing the agencies responsible for delivering services.

Purpose
To quantify who is able to deliver a service, and thus help eradicate duplication of effort. LGATL defines an "agency" in one common language. Combined with LGSL, it enables BPM to take place.
Local variations
Additions and changes should be submitted through esd-toolkit to maintain one national standard.
Origin
LGATL was drafted by the Multi-Agency Working group and released on 25th April 2005.
