Scottish A-Z and Knowledge Base Project
The overall aim of this project is to build a framework for the development of a services list for Scotland based as far as possible on the LGSL, a common A - Z of Scottish council and other public services, a user friendly Scottish Navigation structure to help citizens find what they are looking for and a Knowledge Base framework - a database and categorisation of Frequently Asked Questions ( FAQs ) and interactive forms. This framework will be used by councils across Scotland to help improve the way they interact with citizens through a range of access channels, and to support broader organisational change and improvement.
The project is led by Scotland's Local Government Improvement Service's, Customer First Programme, with two lead Local Authorities; East Dunbartonshire and Renfrewshire. Customer First Programme is represented by Martin Brown, CRM/CA Programme Manager; the lead authorities are represented by David Devine and Don Martin supported by project officer Peter English, (East Dunbartonshire) working on the services list and navigation and Stuart Beresford supported by Project Officer, Tessa Darley, (Renfrewshire) working on the FAQs and eForms.
It is Don and Peter who must be congratulated for the excellent work they have done so far in proposing improvements to LGSL. The Scottish Services List will be a subset of the LGSL but many of the terms and definitions are relevant to English LAs and several gaps were spotted! Your comments are invited at LGSL Forum.
Please particularly look at the proposed name changes, wider definitions and suggested new services.
